English please?

So, its going to seem like an unpopular point of view. In fact, it may even sound a bit racist. However, I can't stand people who don't even try to learn english. (for anyone reading this outside the states, I mean people who live in a primarily english speaking country) If I went to live in Germany, I'd make a damn good effort to learn german. It seems to make sense. Doesn't it? I mean am I alone is this thought?

I was at the local 7-11 today. I had to repeat myself 4 times, and physically point out what I wanted from him. Now, I understand that 7-11 is not where you expect to find a Rhodes Scholar. I do not dispute that just because they do not speak english it doesn't make them dumb or stupid, or any less hard working than anyone else. Its down right frustrating is what it is.

Fun Fact : Did you know that at one point it was attempted to be passed into law that English was to be our official language here in the states? It was shot down and deemed unconstitutional.
What the crap is that?

I'm not saying that people shouldn't be allowed in, if they can't speak english. I'm not even saying they shouldn't be allowed to speak whatever language they want. However, they should for numerous reasons at least be required to learn english. How could a police officer direct a person from harms way, if the person couldn't understand the language? Just wait, one day someone will get killed because the person couldn't understand someone attempting to warn them of danger. Then the person who tried to warn them will be sued by the family because he didn't speak THEIR language in order to adequately warn the person of said danger. On that day, I'll say I told you so.

Wow, time for a new post.

So yeah. I said I'd post more and look what happened.
Its just one of those things that I didn't make a priority. Not to say this should be a priority in my life. Not like I use this as a source of income. Hence the lack of ads. There are other, greater things in my life to make a priority.

For instance, right now, I'm seriously contemplating my job. There is something else that I could apply for, and in the long run make more money. However, its that leap that scares me. I've been with my current job so long. Granted I've hit a celing there, but its something I've become comfortable with (the job not the celing). I have the usual worries such as, what if I don't like the job? What if I can't do it? It requires a serious leap of faith. However, faith in myself is something I do not seem to have.

Nothing good today, as I've been rather consumed with the thought of if I should go for this other job or not. So you all have fun.

Nothing much.

Nothing much to post on today. Didn't get much sleep last night, so I'm doing my damnest to stay awake. If I go to sleep now, later on tonight when I'm supposed to be sleeping, I'll be wide awake.
However, for anyone interested. The Fantastic Four movie was pretty damn good. I do recommend it.

Little bit of this and that.

Just a quick recap of my last post about energy drinks. Today I tried that Sobe No Fear energy drink. Definitely more of a kick than redbull, but twice the liquid too. Take that as good or bad. Also, a few quick points.

  • Energy drinks aren't made to quench your thirst. They're made for energy, drink water or gatorade for hydration.
  • When you come down from your caffeine high or whatever. You come down hard.
  • Frequently asked questions about caffeine

Moving right along

From various news sources around the web. There will be straight to DVD movies done of both Family Guy and Futurama. Just a side note, not to say I dislike Family Guy. I think its one of the best shows on TV. However, I do miss Futurama. If it had been given the same promotion as the Simpsons, it would have never been cancelled.

Next,

CClean!!This application will help you clean up your computer. It cleans everything, even registry files. I used it, and so help me. My computer is running much faster than it used to. I was really bogged down with useless stuff, fragmented files etc. Not that I've had a problem, but its good advice whenever you mess with registry files to back them up prior to messing with them. CClean gives you the option of saving them for you when you go to clean them. Best of all with this program. ITS 100% FREE. No free to try, no trial period, nothing. Just FREE!!

Last but not least,

I'm really hoping that this is one of those joke news stories. Apparently some guy was so into Harry Potter that he killed himself when he overheard a plot spoiler at a local supermarket. Then you have your idiots like this, and this is a quote from the story, "Ms. Clovis said that she hoped Mr. Ralston’s death would cause federal authorities to tighten the flow of Harry Potter plot information to prevent similar tragedies from taking place." So let me get this right, this lady who is a friend of the guy who killed himself. It sounds to me like she is blaming the people who were talking about the book in a public place. What the hell? These are the same type of people that spill hot coffee on themselves and then sue because the coffee was hot. I swear sometimes there needs to be a thinning of the gene pool.

For some reason, when I post, its double spacing everything tonight. So I have no idea how this post will look when its all said and done. Right now, its past 1am in the morning, and I'm done with it.

Energy Drinks

I just read a pretty interesting website.
Like many other people I drink energy drinks. Not on a daily basis, but when I need a pick me up. I've had the usual Red Bull, however after a horrid experience trying some of the other drinks. Some of them just taste like concentrated shit in a can. Either way, if you drink or even thought about having an energy drink. Take a look at this website.
Energy Drink Reviews
I will say this about energy drinks in general. They aren't made for you to drink every day all day. You don't want to drink them like you would a 6 pack of soda or something. Also, I'm not sure about other people. But energy drinks only work for me if I'm moving around. Some people get a boost just kind of sitting there, but it doesn't work like that for me.

Now just as a percaucion, people some people tend to over do it. Know the signs of a caffine overdose. Now I've never heard of anyone dying from a caffine overdose. That doesn't mean it can't happen.

Just use your best judgement.

Goals and purpose.

I really envy people with a goal or a sense of purpose in life. I find myself at 26 years old not knowing what I'm doing with myself. Granted, I have a job that pays so-so. However, there has to be more out there for me. I was one of those people that fell into that trap after high school where I said I was going to take a year off from school, then try and go to college. Well, 10 years later and I've yet to go back to school and try and earn a degree or anything. The main thing holding me back is what to go for. If I don't set a goal for myself, or have a sense of purpose as to what I "want to be when I grow up" (so to speak) I don't think I'd put forth as great of an effort.

That being said the job I have now isn't bad. Its just not something I can see myself making a career out of it. Although having been there as long as I have, one might get that impression. The job is a physically demmanding one, and I can feel that its starting to take its toll on my body. Plus, for the most part I really enjoy the majority of the people I work with. They are definitely a large part of what keeps me there.

Maybe I'm placing too high of an importance on knowing what I should do with my life. Then again, things aren't like they used to be. Without a degree in something ( even an unrelaed field) you are less likely to get a good paying job in todays world. I think I was born out of time. I look back to days when people made deals based on handshakes and no one sued you at for patting them on the back and telling them they did a good job. (Not that I've ever been sued, just making a point) People were judged on thier merits of how hard of a worker they were, and not who they knew or how much ass they kissed.

All I can say is, there has to be more out there for me.
I'm just lost without a map.

Wow, can I pick em'

Why is it that the women I know, have mood swings to rival that of Babe Ruth.
I mean christ, I've never seen swings like these outside of a major league ballpark.
It seems every woman I know that I become friends with, seems to go from flirtatious to I'm going to rip off your balls and eat them in front of you, in 2 seconds flat. Granted there are some exceptions. Its just these mood swings that piss me off beyond all reasonable doubt.

Now, I know what some of you could be thinking. I did something to cause these mood swings, or did something to egg them on. I assure you it was not the case. I swear its got to be a bipolar disease or something.
Okay, I'm done bitching for today.
If I find anything interesting on the web this evening, I'll make a second post. For now, I just had to vent some frustrations.

The things some people do

What makes people drive the way they do?
Today I've seen someone as they are driving down the road rading a book against the steering wheel of a car? I thought to myself, thats got to be a hell of a book. That, or are these people that bored with driving? Either way, I felt it was an accident waiting to happen. Being a concerned motorist, I honked my horn, and yelled for her to put the book down and drive. She just glanced at me, smirked and sped off.
Honestly, what the fuck are some people thinking?
So, this prompted me to ask some people I work with a few things about thier driving. Because naturally, I'm curious. Now I understand that not all of them would be reading a book, hell some of the people I work with I doubt can even read. So, I used something more close to thier heart, a cell phone. First I'll say that I myself have used a cell phone while driving. I'm proud to say that if/when I have used it, its been a short conversation lasting less than 5 minutes. I feel that the road and other cars around me deserve my attention first and foremost. I'm talking about those people who talk on thier cell phones in thier cars for great length. So, I talked to a few of the people at work that I notice are ALWAYS on thier cells. Despite my job having a no cell phone policy, they continue to do so. (which is another rant for another day) .
So, getting back on track. I asked these people, if it was made a crime punishable by significant jail time. Would you still talk on your cell phone in you car?
Now, I got angry answers "They can't do that shit, its my car, my cell phone!"
God forbid they think of anyone else around them and take into consideration what thier distracted driving might do to them. Nope, all about me me me.
When did these people's lives become so important that they need to be on a phone 24/7?
I'll keep this about people driving distracted though, cause me being pissed off at cell phone users is a really long rant for another time. All, I'm saying is, if someone out there is reading this who drives with a news paper, laptop, cell phone (constantly not just a quick thing), book, or starring in the mirror doing make up while driving. I hope when you do get in an accident (and you will) its only a single car accident. So that the only people you fuck up, or kill, will be yourself.

Couldn't find any good links today. I was too busy talking on my cell phone......

One of those vacations to remember.

So, I'm back from my vacation. Again, I will stress that its not really a vacation if you have to spend it with family. After about 2 days of visiting with family and still having a couple to go, I found myself so completely bored out of my skull that I was looking forward to going home. I was even looking forward to going back to work. Because that meant that there was something for me to do. Don't get me wrong, sure I love my family, but they just bore me to tears. Having traveled with family to see them, meant that I had no transportation of my own to run around and do as I liked. So I was stuck doing things on other people's time, and when they wanted to do it.

Next time, I'm saving up and going to Vegas.

Needless to say, it was nice to visit, but I'm glad to be home.
So while looking around the web, I again have some cool stuff for you to look at.

This guy took an old NES and crammed a DVD player into it.
On eBay, a Turbine jet engine powered Toyota MR2. And you thought your car was fast.
I love these commercials.
Is it wrong that I thought this was kind of funny?
