Left seat in Internet cafe only to use toilet

A South Korean man who played computer games for 50 hours almost non-stop died of heart failure minutes after finishing his mammoth session in an Internet cafe, authorities said on Tuesday.

Note:

Not to sound like a complete jerk here. Maybe its a good thing this guy is no longer around. People like this do not need to use up the oxygen that could be used for people who do something with thier lives.

Working for the man

Okay, so I've had a pretty hectic work schedule as of late. Yet I still feel like I should post SOMETHING. So, occasionally, I'm just blogging stories from digg. I by no means plan on doing this to take credit from another site, otherwise I'd do nothing but blog stories there.

For those who don't know, the guys from digg, also produce a podcast and a weekly video version of the podcast. Its a good show, and these guys you can tell are just having fun with it.

Advice to iPod thieves: do not bring to an Apple retailer

Story from Engadget: iPod thief takes the stolen iPod to an Apple retailer, that is managed by the iPod's owner.

Note:

This is pretty damn funny. Nothing more I love than seeing a theif get caught. I hate it when people steal. I work my ass off for everything I have, and for someone to just take it...
Lets just say its really something that tends to piss me off. Theives should have their hands cut off.

Hybrid Supercar

Wow, this Hybrid Supercar can do 0-60 in the low 4-seconds and can get 50mpg. Developed by a bunch of High School kids, the car is call "The Attack" and looks just as good as it performs.

Note:

Okay this is all good and well, and in fact this would be great if it were true. However, I doubt the validity of this article. If I see this thing popping up in other places, I will by all means admit that I'm wrong. I do know that there has to be a better way of running our vehicles now, I bet that there are things that could be added on to our own cars/trucks to make them more fuel efficient, but have been kept off the market by oil companies buying up the patients. I also understand that of the current hybrids, there has to be better technology for what's out there. As far as hybrids go, they all look ugly and are slow. I think that we have barely scratched the surface of them. Gas prices being what they are now. I can see some public demand causing some flood gates to open. I'm willing to bet we will see some interesting things to come.

However, getting back on track. Yeah, I'm unsure if this article is real. It is, a sign of the times though.

Winning the lottery

No, I haven't won the lottery.

Like many people, I wish I could. However, its easy to sit back and think that it would solve all your problems and make life so much easier. Or will it bring more problems than you had before?

This article is a good read.

Its definitely something to make you think. To quote something from the article (about lottery winners) "Often they can keep the money and lose family and friends -- or lose the money and keep the family and friends -- or even lose the money and lose the family and friends." Think about how many people would come out of the woodwork to ask/beg you for money if you were the big winner? How easy would it be for you to say no? I know that if I won, I'd like to help out some family and friends. Then again, where is that line between helping out and a hand out? When do they start to become people that hang on until the money runs out? Not to mention the people out there that will find a way to sue you for your new found wealth.

Not that I'm anywhere near close to winning the lottery mind you. I have about as much of a chance as any other poor slob out there. If I did win though, and this is a BIG if. First thing I'd do would be to hire a good, note good, financial advisor. I'd recommend the same to anyone that won the lottery. Of course, things are easy to say until someone actually puts the money in front of your face.

Gas Prices Around the World

Think you pay a lot for gas? Perhaps you'd prefer to live in Venezuela.

NOTE:

Well, I don't think I could bitch too much about gas prices after reading this. Although, I probably still will.

Wasted time

So, I just sat through watching the comedy central roast of Pam Anderson.
Why did I actually sat through that mess? I can't honestly say I don't know. However, after watching it. I can definitely say without a doubt that the train wreck known as Courtney Love is something special waiting to happen. She is by far so sadly entertaining to watch. Not because she is trying to be entertaining, but because she is so messed up that it makes a crack whore look sane. If the youth of today ever wanted a reason to "Just say no", put up pictures of Courtney Love up everywhere. So help me god, we'd have more clean and sober people than anywhere else in the world.

GTA Murder Defense Fails in Court

The 20-year-old who pled not guilty to killing three police officers because he had played too much Grand Theft Auto has just been convicted and faces the death penalty. Bad news for all the people that claim that video games directly cause violence...

Its a good read. I've ranted about this before. People not taking responsibility for their own actions. Things like this make me so completely sick. What's wrong with the world today when people make a claim that a video game did it, so that it must be okay for them to do? Personally, I'm glad this person got the death penalty. People like him should not be allowed to exist. Not just because he used the video game defense that pisses me off, but the fact that he did kill three perfectly innocent people. I believe that the families of those people deserve nothing less than to have him die.

Internet Slang.

So, this is going to be short. Its been a busy couple of days for me.
However, something that pissed me off, just had to be vented. What is it with people using internet slang? I can almost understand and come to grips with "LOL". Still a horrific abuse of language, but I can look past it in most cases. Then you have the people who use letters for words. R and U are letters people, not words. Much less, why feel the need to abbreviate a three letter word? ITS THREE LETTERS FOR CHRISTS SAKE. Does it take that much time out of your day, to type out 'are' ? I'm not saying that people on the net should be a literary master. I'm just saying at least try and type out what you are trying to say. Typing out "plz" instead of "please" just makes you look like someone who was dropped on their head as a child while eating lead based paint chips.

I guess what I'm trying to say is. If its not worth typing out correctly, is it worth typing out at all? Just something to think about.

I couldn't even think of a appropriate title.

So, what kind of people have we all become? So, again, I'm at a 7-11. (What can I say, its on the way to work.) The person in front of me purchases a cup of coffee and whips out a credit card. Now I understand that sometimes people forget their wallet or whatever have you.
However, I wouldn't have brought it up unless its happened on more than one occasion. What kind of people are we when we have to have plastic to purchase everything. Yes, I understand that if your card gets stolen, you can get the money back versus if you have cash on you its gone for good. Either way, its not something that burns me up that bad. Just something on top of my head at the moment.

I tell you what really tends to piss me off though. When rock stars try and act like they are world leaders. They see things a certain way, so they use their influence in order to get others to see things their way as well. Of course the lemmings that most of the public tends to be, will follow them right off the cliff. I really noticed this during the past presidential elections. It doesn't matter which side you are on. If you are using your status as a celebrity in order to influence people to vote a certain way, you should be shot. Now, they could be something more positive and influence others to make an informed decision. But no, they have to have things their way.

Okay, thats all for now
