So, I read an interesting article. Its on someone's blog, so I'm going to tell you right now, it might not be 100% true. I want to make this clear. There is enough of this, "Well I read it somewhere from so-and-so, so it must be true." bullshit out there.
So its been reported that FEMA, the agency set up to help you in times of emergencies turned help away from hurricane victims. An interesting read here, fire fighters from Houston set out to help the people of New Orleans. Only to be stopped by armed FEMA agents, tell them that they would not be allowed in until the area was "secured". I'm not sure how to look at this.
In the one hand, I'm sure they could argue that it was for the safety of the fire fighters. On the other hand, I think it has a lot to do with control. Least that's my take on the situation. I haven't found any news stories from any reputable news sources. Just an indy media site.
One thing I will urge anyone that reads this to do is, make up your own mind. I'm not here to win anyone over with my dribble. These two links make FEMA out to look pretty bad. Keep that in mind.
