Ever since broadband internet became popular there have been a ton of video's on the internet. Sure there has just about always been video available on the net. However, its widespread use didn't seem as popular as it is now. Some people even produce shows specifically and exclusivcely for the internet, and they call this Ip TV. Much of this thus far from what I've seen is Tech related content. While I'm no where near considered a hard core tech guy. I do enjoy watching some of these shows.
One such group of internet pioneers is Kevin Rose and his band of merry men over there at
Revision3.com. They produce, systm, thebroken, and diggnation. Most recently they put out a video release of a weekly pod cast show that many of the revision3 guys take part in,
TWIT. They use bit torrent to spread their shows around the net to keep bandwidth costs down. They are going into uncharted waters with these shows.
I sincerely believe that soon enough there will be an entire network of on demmand programming. Current shows, not like the reruns of old shows that have come and gone. I believe the networks see this too.
Adultswim , cartoon networks night time block of shows which is not aired on Firday nights. Will be available to be viewed online,
reports yahoo . John Stewart of the Daily Show has given the "go ahead" to have episodes of his show onine, as
reported by Wired Magazine . I'm sure this is only the tip of the ice burg. Be on the look out for more and more networks and TV shows to understand the new coming popularity of IP TV.
Its definitely something to keep an eye on.
