Crying baby

So there I am sitting in a doctors office waiting to be seen, and in walks this woman with her three kids in tow. One of which she has in a stroller. This kid was screaming like a banshee. Now, maybe I'd be more understanding if the mother was doing something to quiet the child. This woman did nothing, I repeat NOTHING to quiet the child. I sat there for a good hour as this kids screaming ate into my brain and gave me the mother of all headaches. I could tell by looking around at all the other people in the waiting room, that they too were suffering by the constant cries of the child. Finally I turned to the woman and asked if everything was alright. I figured that would be enough of a subtle hint. Nope nothing so subtle would get through that thick skull. As the reply I got was "Oh, I'm fine, why do you ask?" I just shook my head and muttered a few curse words to myself. It was enough that she heard it over the child's tantrum. With an annoyed look on her face, the woman stood up and just about jerked the child from the stroller and gave me the evil eye as she took the baby outside to try and calm him down. As the door closed behind her, I heard one of the other people in the waiting room say "thank god."

I consider that my good deed for the day.

If you are that woman, and you somehow see and read this. For the love of god what the hell is wrong with you? I understand you can't necessarily drop your child off to have someone watch him/her for the duration of your doctors appointment. Have some common courtesy for your fellow human being. Just because you can selectively tune out your childs screams, doesn't mean the rest of us can.
